Across the Spider-Verse Will Feature Other Fan-Favorite Wall-Crawlers Despite the series being well-received by both fans and critics, The Spectacular Spider-Man was canceled in 2009 due to legal problems between Disney and Sony Pictures Television. Josh Keaton voiced the titular character across the show's 26 episodes. ![]() The series, which was influenced by the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, as well as Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, focused on Peter Parker's early days as Spider-Man with the first season beginning just three months after he was bitten by the radioactive spider.
